Happy New Year
Not your Average Adios to 2024 & Hello to 2025
I’ve always had a weird relationship with New Year’s Eve.
Mainly because it doesn’t quite add up with the cycles of nature and there is just this somewhat awkward societal narrative that “everything will be different” in the next calendar year.
To be fair, things can be different. Only if we apply real intention & focus on creating true change and a commitment to a different reality we want to experience.
I’ve found this to be an oil & water mixture of hard and easy to do.
Yet there is this vibration that inspires us to set goals and create new habits each January. In my experience, traditional goal setting and smart goal systems don’t address the root cause of why we don’t achieve the goals & dreams we carry in our hearts & minds.
When I’ve explored this in my own life as to why, I find that it’s a mixture of neurological patterns, subconscious beliefs, trauma, and nature. Nature as is in this flow of life keeps us moving forward with a mix of comfort and just enough newness that keeps us entertained so we don’t realize we are living our own personal Groundhog Day.
This past December after my move I decided to try out this Dopamine Detox I kept coming across from different thought leaders.
My version of it was
No Caffeine
No Desserts
No Sex
No TV / Entertainment
No Video Games
Limit Social media to 45 mins a day
Let me tell you, it was a struggle for those 10 days. It really opened my eyes to the lack of willpower I had when it came down to brain chemistry. Those 10 days however we insanely productive & enjoyable.
So starting again in 2025, I’ll be doing this again with the intent of going a full month and resetting those dopamine receptors.
Beyond the hardware reset, I’ll also be pairing it some experimental goal setting techniques that I base off NLP & Magic to give it a boost overall. I’ll share the results at the end of January with you.
If you are interested in the final version of this protocol send me a reply and I’ll keep you top of the list for it.
Happy New Year to you all and I’ll see you on the other side
