3 Foundations to be a Prosperous Soloprenuer

What has worked for me and will work for you

The 3 Foundations

A 4 Minute Read to orient your attention to the 3 areas of life that water the garden of success

As I find myself in the middle of my early 30s, I reflect occasionally on the patterns of success and failure that brought me to this point.

I see the habits that lead to achievement and self-sabotage…

The seeds of life experiences that, “butterflied effected,” those moments into reality for better or worse.

If I could talk to my 20 year old self, I would encourage him to have a structured focus on these 3 areas.

  1. Financial Development -Confronting the reality of money, investing, and creating a stronger income online, specifically through the means of a personal brand. I recognize now that I had some self-image and mindset issues that prevented me from taking action early in my career. Looking forward 10 years into the future, personal brands will be one of the most valuable assets available. I’m not saying you need to be a super famous social media social lite, but being very authentic and present with who you are and what you value will be more profitable than most trades or skills in the past 20 years. With AI adoption coming faster and faster, the world is craving intimacy & authenticity. Even if you desire to just run a faceless business, you as the business owner will need some sort of authenticity-based presence to stand out from the oncoming wave of AI-generated media & personalities. This is the single most effective thing I believe any individual aspiring for financial freedom can put effort into.

A book that helped me with financial beliefs is Secrets of the Millionaire Mind.

A perfect blend of practical & spiritual principles for beliefs around money

  2. Spiritual Development - The guidelines of your attention & energy. Whether you want enlightenment or inner peace there is something here for you that will pay dividends over time. For me, learning an open-eye meditation technique gave me the ability to see & sense energy within my body & surrounding area. It also gave me the first real glimpse at controlling the mind and thought stream. Most spiritual traditions were very scientific in their rituals & practices and focused on mastering their own energies as they aimed to have direct experience with The Sacred & Divine. When you begin to work with your subtle energies & understand the energetic flow of material reality, your ability to create life consciously becomes effortless. It’s like having cheat codes in a game. There are levels to this, but starting with the simple aim of connecting to your inner guidance, wisdom, & higher aspirations is a good place to start.

I also have found life-changing transformation working with the peyote traditions of the Indigenous peoples of Mexico & the South West US.

If you are new to spiritual exploration, I encourage learning zen meditation, pranayama (breathwork), and getting into a habit of reading anything by Richard Bach.

P.S. - In November I led 7 entrepreneurs through a 3 week Breathwork / Pranayama course. If you are interested in the recordings or an upcoming course, respond to this email so I can gauge interest and plan accordingly.

  3. Personal Development - Becoming a perpetually better version of yourself via physical health, communication, creativity, and within social dynamics. Unfortunately, most people have a fixed personality by the time they hit 28 or 30 years old. While I don’t believe that you're stuck with whatever you carry into that age of your life, I do believe that by not trying to grow you are accepting that your past will dictate your future. The past doesn’t define us, what we do today defines our future tomorrow, and so on. Depending on what your current circumstances are gives you an idea of what to focus on.

Most people generally would benefit from spending time improving their communication. Whether that’s through written form or verbally is up to the individual. It helps with marketing your own business, your relationships both personally & romantically, and so on. The trick is just dropping your idea of self-image and getting comfortable doing something new or different.

In my early 20s, this guy Julian and his buddies helped me start to awaken this for myself as I had a bit of an awkward/tough time in high school.
Fair warning, it can be a bit triggering and you may not vibe with his personality, but he provides some very clear instructions for how to stop sabotaging yourself in your interactions with others.

On a more personal experience level, I have found that Hypnotherapy helps free up subconscious energy & beliefs so that you can move forward and not feel like there is this weight around your neck from some experience.

Pulling it together

If you want a prescribed way to integrate a routine for this into your life, this is what I recommend

  1. Every Thursday sit down for an hour and read a financial book, review your investments, and work on your budget. Thursday is Jupiter’s day and this planet governs financial prosperity.

  2. Daily Spiritual Routine

    1. Meditate 15 mins in the AM - focus your mind

    2. 10 mins of pranayama - balances your energy

    3. 5 mins of journaling - free flow of consciousness

  3. Personal Development

    1. Read 20 mins every day, any topic, whatever you want to learn

    2. Spend an hour focusing on a project that can build your income over 6 to 12 months

    3. Art / Creative work twice a week. Start simple, then maybe take a class or two to expand this aspect of yourself.

In closing, if you want a better life, you must confront the reality of your situation and make intentional changes that culminate in change as time moves forward. Most people who explore personal / self-development typically go surface-level and struggle to make the changes necessary to create real transformation. By working with these 3 areas, you can start to consciously create life & influence the areas of your life that you want to change. Start with these three foundations and gradually expand from there as you build willpower & discipline.

I believe in you and am rooting for you
